1. Who we are

The data controller is Sullivan Bouchenoire, sole trader trading as Reflective Capsule Edition, 14 Avenue du Professeur Jean Dausset, 31300 Toulouse, France. For any question about your data, write to hello@study-abroad-journal.com.

2. What we collect

  • When you order: your name, email address, postal address, phone number and order details. We never see or store your card details.
  • When you create an account: your email address, name and addresses.
  • When you subscribe to our emails: your email address and first name.
  • When you write to us: your message and contact details.
  • When you browse: statistics on how the website is used, only if you accept cookies.

3. Why we use it

  • To process, print, ship and follow up your order (performance of the contract).
  • To keep our accounting records (legal obligation).
  • To answer your messages and send you emails about your order (legitimate interest).
  • To send you our newsletter (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the link in every email).
  • To measure and improve the website and keep it secure (your consent for statistics, legitimate interest for security).

4. Who receives it

We never sell your data. We only share what is needed with the service providers who help us run the shop:

  • IONOS (Germany): website hosting.
  • Mollie (Netherlands): secure payments, including card, PayPal, Apple Pay and Klarna.
  • Amazon (Kindle Direct Publishing): printing and delivery of your journal, which needs your name and shipping address.
  • Brevo (France): order and newsletter emails.
  • Metricool and Google: website statistics, only with your consent.
  • Wordfence: website security.

When a provider processes data outside the European Union, the transfer is protected by the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: 10 years, as required by French accounting law.
  • Customer account: until you delete it or ask us to.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Messages: up to 3 years after our last exchange.
  • Cookies: 13 months at most.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you can access, correct or delete your data, limit or object to its use, ask for a copy in a portable format and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@study-abroad-journal.com and we will answer within one month.

If you think your rights are not respected, you can file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

7. Cookies

When you first visit the website, a banner lets you accept or refuse non essential cookies. Essential cookies (cart, checkout, login, security) are always active because the website cannot work without them. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie button at the bottom of the page.
